Things to look forward to!

First off I would just like to give a shout out to Duquesne University for hosting an incredibly fun and successful round of "mini-golf" for the Jimmy V Foundation for Cancer Research! The unique idea: "I got snagged for Jimmy V" and the fun twist on mini-golf was a huge hit and I know our club enjoyed themselves! Thank you so much for hosting and we are very glad that the program was successful for yet another year!

Next I would like to give a heads up for things to look forward to this month and for the rest of the semester!
--Sign up for Pitt Circle K team for Relay for Life on April 13-14th! I believe registration is only $5 dollars right now so sign up soon!
--Also we would like to encourage you to start raising money, sending emails and letters to send and forward to friends, family, and hopefully spark a chain of forwarding to their friends and family! Our club hopes to make a tradition out of raising the most money for Pitt Relay for Life so get some scratch offs and ask around! Also look forward to some spaghetti dinners for you and your friends for a mix of both fundraising, food, and good company!
--Elections will be held at the last two meetings of this month so have your friends come nominate you for a position! See a member of the current executive board for information on the different positions! Good luck to all that decide to run!
--Lastly, Mark your calenders for DCON in Johnstown in March! We hope to get a lot of members to come since the convention is so close this year! More information to come at meetings and in the weekly minutes so look out for it!

GOOD LUCK to everyone as we approach midterm season, I know it starts to get hectic but stay active members and get involved when you can! We love seeing all of the new faces at events the past few weeks so keep it up!

Service in da 'Burgh '11 !

Thank you to everyone who helped to plan, run, and execute a successful Service in da 'Burgh!!! Our Membership VP, Kaitlin Kennard and her dedicated committee did an excellent job organizing our service projects through the night! We were able to complete hundreds of dog treats, activity books for kids in Kenya, Dozens of Caitlyn Smiles Bags, a dozen cat nip toys, close to 1,000 Christmas cards for the salvation army, painting for a women's shelter facility, and dozens of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the homeless! We could not have asked for a more successful night and such an amazing turn. Thanks for all who traveled to come and help us out, we hope you had a fun night!! A special thanks to Miryam's Women's Center and Shelter for allowing us to hold our event at their establishment overnight!

Welcome to the new year!

To all those who are veterans, welcome back to PITT and Circle K! And to all first year PITT students, we are very excited that you have decided to join Circle K!

We don't want to overwhelm anyone on the first week of classes, however we do have a few events to get the year started. This week includes:

9/1 - Children's Institute Bingo (6:20-8:30)
(**Reminder, everyone should meet either outside the William Pitt Union or inside if it is raining, on the 5th Avenue side!)

9/4 C.L.A.W Serivce Project where we will be making dog toys and also have some fun tossing a frisbee or soccer ball around Schenley Park! So bring your friends and hope for nice weather!

Don't forget to report your summer hours to Kathleen by email or at the next meeting! Hope to see everyone there!
