School may be out for the season, but that doesn't mean you have to stop serving! Here are some ideas to stay a grade A Circle K-er over break:
  • Volunteer at your local soup kitchen
  • Donate presents for less fortunate children
  • Finally get around to cleaning out your closet! Give your old clothes to Goodwill or another clothing-collection center.
  • Make holiday cards for nearby hospitals or nursing homes.

Meeting Recap

Last night was our last meeting of 2008! So weird... If you were too busy studying for finals, avoiding the cold, or just generally overwhelmed with end-of-the-year apathy and couldn't make it, here's what you missed:

*Free money! Check out the 2009 CKI Scholarship Handbook. Dues paying members from Pitt are eligible for four different scholarships ranging from $1000 to $2500. The deadline is February 28, 2009. Check out details at:http://community.kiwanisone.org/media/p/2235.aspx
*BINGO on Thursday. Meet at 6:30pm
*KICO on Saturday. Meet at 9:45am--there will be a free breakfast!
*Our District Secretary is promoting www.freerice.com. This week, while you're procrastinating papers and projects, play a few rounds and let Secretary Jaclyn know how many grains you donate. Our club goal is 1 pound!
*Make sure you also let Jaclyn know if you have any outside service hours over break.
*You also missed out on lots of free candy that Justin and Julia brought. It was like Halloween, without the costumes. Bummer.

Good luck with finals everyone! Have a safe trip home and enjoy your break! See you in 2009!
